A mouthful? Yes. Literally and figuratively. But these meatballs are really easy to make and friggin delicious. I didn’t take very many pictures because there are only two steps- simmer all the ingredients together and then add pre-made party meatballs. At some point I’m going to make meatballs from scratch, but when you don’t have infinite amounts of time, it makes so much more sense to buy them pre-made to take to a party.
SO. here’s whatcha need:
Apple Cider Vinegar
Frozen pre-made meatballs
Even parts vinegar and brown sugar, soy sauce and worcestershire to taste. The ketchup adds a nice thickener and base for the sauce. The ginger can get very overwhelming very quickly, so start with a small amount, taste or smell the sauce and then continue to season. I usually put everything in all together at the same time, and then simmer until the sauce is to your desired thickness.
Hm, is this the appropriate time to address my love of crockpots? Yes, I know it’s not the 1950’s, but I love bringing appetizers to parties and the crockpot is the perfect way to do so. For example, with these meatballs, you can put them frozen in the pot, pour the sauce over, set on medium and VOILA. All set.
Also, this sauce would be great for a stir fry. Just sayin.
